About Kafkai Giken
Last updated: June 17, 2026
We are a software company in Shibuya, Tokyo. The name says what we are.
"Giken" is 技研, short for 技術研究, technology research. When a Japanese company puts 技研 in its name, it is making a claim: we research and build our own technology. We do not resell someone else's and put our logo on it. The famous example is 本田技研工業, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. The claim we are making is the same, just smaller in scale and without the motorcycles.
We used to be called LaLoka Labs. We changed our name to 株式会社Kafkai Giken in May 2026, because the company had grown into the thing it was already building. The full story is here.
What We Build
Everything we ship came out of our own hands.
- Kafkai: AI-assisted writing for content teams that need to produce more than they have time for.
- Kafkai Market Intelligence: Competitive and market analysis for companies that cannot afford an agency. We take the keyword and backlink data that SEO tools have always collected and use it the way a business strategist would: to show you who your real competitors are and where to move next.
- Kafkai AI Media: Our publishing arm about AI, marketing and small businesses that's bigger than Kafkai. Read about it here.
- KaiMail: Email on your own domain. Simple, reliable, and not designed to read your inbox.
- PuchiDen: Browser-based international calling. No app, no account, no tracking. Pick up, dial, talk. Co-built with our partners at Mirakuru Europa OU in Estonia.
Four different products. One idea underneath: take something useful that has been made more complicated than it needs to be, and ship the version that just works.
Who We Build It For
Our target is the 5-to-25-person company trying to compete with players ten times its size. Those companies rarely have the budget for enterprise tools or the headcount to staff a dedicated analyst. They have smart people and limited time, and they need tools that give them real answers, not dashboards that require a consultant to interpret.
That constraint is not an afterthought for us. It is the brief.
