Geoff Day, COO of Japan Travel KK, shares how Kafkai’s AI-powered tool enhances SEO strategy and content creation through competitor analysis, offering unique insights and time-saving features that stand out among traditional keyword tools.

We asked Geoff from Japan Travel to try out Kafkai. This is what he has to say:

Geoff Day of Japan Travel

The tool is interesting and provides quick access to competitor data. This is similar to other tools integrated with Google Search and Google Keyword Planner such as similarweb.com or ahrefs.com (also both require payment to access advanced features). The added feature over free Google tools is the direct comparison with competitors - everything else is already available in Google Search Console or Keyword Planner.

Some of the search and sorting needs improvement with advanced search/filters are needed at times. I wanted to search for specific terms at times, but it often led me in different directions and there is a hard cap of 2,000 terms so once you get into deep dives you may have zero results. In some ways, it goes beyond what other tools I have used can offer and it is quick to create a list of thousands of keywords to focus on. If we had 5~10 interns who we wanted to task to create several hundred articles over a few weeks, this would be a decent reference, but I would not necessarily recommend this over Google Keyword Planner (free) unless we are specifically trying to overtake a particular competitor's website across the board.

As a very general tool, it works, but for evaluating more specific websites with few competitors I dont see too much value. For example, comparing Japan Travel to Japan-guide or JNTO works well enough, but trying to compare the Kanagawa website to Kanagawa-related content on sites such as JT, JTNO, etc. does not work.

The article generation initially takes up to 20~30 seconds (on the "Get Title Suggestions" step) to get going with a lack of feedback on what is doing so I bounced from the page before the titles were generated the first time around. Probably should add more of a loading indication and/or mention it will take 10-30 seconds to generate titles.

This is a three-part process to generate titles (you choose one), then generate the outline (edit if necessary), and then generate the article. Generating the articles puts this into a queue that submits the articles for generation and after about 2~3 minutes the article is generated.

I found this part easy to use other than the initial load time, and perhaps I will re-evaluate my opinion in that this gives you a much more structured and effective approach to working with AI. Especially would be useful for users who have little experience working with language models.

I generated three articles based on cherry blossoms, but there was not too much difference between the three articles so I think it's a waste of the quota to generate multiple articles on the same topic/outline. Perhaps the option to generate more than one article on a topic should be removed.

The tool works well in generating outlines from titles. Generating articles from the outline in a different section where the articles are stored is nice.

All in all, I could create articles directly in the language model in faster ways, but I think the addition of the outline makes this tool interesting and more effective for 90% of users.

I would also add that the keyword density tracking is interesting and another time saver.

Thank you for your detailed feedback Geoff! We’re pleased you found value in Kafkai’s competitor insights and outline generation. Your suggestions on search functionality, load time feedback, and multi-article options are appreciated and are helping us refine the tool. We're committed to making Kafkai as efficient and strategic as possible and look forward to implementing these improvements.
